Today I am grateful for and acknowledge this incredible learning opportunity from the session titled: Calculate your Food Print-Ramadan, coordinated by Nawal Ateeq, facilitated by Uzma Javed in collaboration with Flemingdon Community Support Services (FCSS) and The Neighbourhood Office (TNO). Today's session was about making sense of food in connection with Ramadan and earth day. I appreciate and recognize the significance of today's session for a variety of reasons, for instance:

  • Ramadan foodprint and earth: restore the spirit was the topic to address during the session. Today's session was thought-provoking and insightful. The notion was discussed such as how is the waste, animal industry and consumption of meat product causing the imbalance of the ecosystem of this globe? How greenhouse affecting the environment. Uzma gracefully connected the religious ideology, waste and global warning
  • This was a timely reminder for us to understand the significance of the footprint. The taken insight and thoughts from the session were:
    • What is Roza and why a month?
    • What is foodprint? and does it impact the earth?
    • What your diet says?
    • Food waste, can we afford it?
    • Animal agriculture and environmental impact of the livestock industry
    • Shrink your footprint
    • Impact on waste consumption
    • Animal waste including their blood, skin and wastages
    • Pick food that is locally grown
  • Today's session was over the zoom, highly convenient to join at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic and Ramadan. Just require to check internet connectivity as the session was over the virtual mode
  • There was no requirement to drive or take TTC and no need to formally dressed up while staying at home order is imposed
  • This session was cost-effective as it was free of cost, no need to pay a single $ for this session. This is the magnificent relief and support at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic
  • Today's session was profoundly engaging and appealing. Everyone was welcome to share thoughts and reflect on the subject
  • This session promotes a sense of belongingness and connectivity while non-essential travel is forbidden to control the spread of Coronavirus 
  • Personally, I found this session was safe and secure to share observations and knowledge. It was an excellent opportunity to learn from each other. Foodprint was a new thought and notion for me

Ketchup

 


Today I am grateful for this incredible sauce that is the "Ketchup" of everyday usage. You may find a variety of recipes for homemade ketchup on YouTube. Personally, I do like homemade ketchup, my mom and aunts used to make it at home. I appreciate and acknowledge the significance of ketchup for a variety of reasons, for instance:

  • Ketchup is not eaten by spoon or hand but it adds value, taste and aroma to the cuisine and snacks or bites
  • Ketchup compliments and enhances the flavour of the meal and its aroma intensifies the tastebuds 
  • Ketchup is kind of sweet, saltish, savour and with tangy blends, however, now available in a variety of blends, for instance, mayo and mustard
  • Ketchup is a popular and all-time favourite regardless of culture, socioeconomic status, gender and age groups
  • It is made with tomato puree with added spices, for instance, salt, sugar, vinegar, red chillies, onion and added chat masala. These ingredients I discovered in my family whereas commercial recipes and ingredients might be varied
  • Ketchup harmonizes very well as a dip with snacks, curries and cuisines but it depends on the recipes as well
  • Ketchup complements and goes very well with samosa, roll, pakora, burger, sandwiches, nuggets, fried fish, Tikka, kebab, Chinese and Thai cuisines 
  • That's my understanding and thoughts regarding ketchup, what is yours? is the question of the day

Happy Earth Day

 

Today I am grateful for attending the session regarding Happy Earth Day: My relationship with mother earth. This session was facilitated by Nawal Ateeq in collaboration with Flemingdon Community Support Services (FCSS) and The Neighbourhood Office (TNO). My relationship with mother earth was an incredible session and recognize its significance for many reasons, for instance:

  • This was an outstanding session to learn from each other, highly engaging, interactive and  appealing 
  • At this time of the COVID 19, this session was transcendent support for the community to connect with each other over the zoom while staying at home order is being imposed. This session was kind of fresh air to breathe and be alive
  • Happy Earth Day was offered over the zoom, very convenient and comfortable to join, no need to drive or dress up formally. You just need to check internet connectivity
  • While joining this session, the community sense the feeling of connectivity and belongingness
  • The taken thoughts and inspirations from today's session were:
    • What is the true meaning of the relationship with the mother earth
    • How can we repurpose, reuse and recycle clothes to save our earth
    • Reuse of empty containers of detergent, oil and spices
    • How to reuse leftover food instead of through it in the garbage
    • How can we grow herbs at home, learn strategies from each other
    • How can we reuse papers, approaches to save the earth
    • Repurpose and reuse glass containers because it is profoundly damaging to the earth
  • Today's session was thought-provoking, insightful and unfold the multiple layers of the nature of mother earth

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the significance of today's session for promoting wellbeing and positivity in one's life at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic. I acknowledge and recognize the value to Malton - Bazm-e-Khawateen for providing this platform. This session was hosted and coordinated by Gulnaz Rehan and facilitated by Arshi Ali (registered psychotherapist, qualifying). Today's session was the sequel of the last session. I realize the importance of today's session for many reasons, for instance:

  • At this time of the COVID 19 pandemic, while social distancing is being practiced for controlling the spread of the novel coronavirus. Gratitude practise helps to rewire and retune brain chemicals and vibes to promote wellness and positivity

Today I am grateful for and recognize the significance of safety pins in our life in a variety of connections. Safety pins may be found in varied proportions, forms, tones and designs. All of them are highly effective and beneficial in our daily life. I acknowledge the value of safety pin for many reasons, for instance:

  • The safety pin is being used for decades for varied purposes, it is a kind of a blessing in our life. The foremost purpose of safety pins is to secure and fastener in any connection
  • Safety pins are a component of our daily life for many reasons, for example:
    • Women manage it to wrap and secure their scarf for a finishing look
    • In Asian countries, it is used to secure saree's folds and pleats
    • It supports to secure dupatta over the shoulder
    • Safety pins sometimes may be used during sewing projects
    • It was utilized to fasten homemade pampers in back times
    • Tom and Jerry cartoons, you may notice that pamper was secure with a safety pin
    • I witnessed that during a birthday party, people used it for popping up balloons
  • Safety pins are the instant solution in a variety of emergencies and crises that's why a source of comfort and support
  • There is no doubt about safety pins, their usage and no one can deny their significance in our life

Today I am thankful for and appreciate the significance of red chillies in our cuisines and cooking. Red chillies are the basic essence of everyday life in most Asian and European countries for ages. I am grateful for and acknowledge the power of red chillies for multiple reasons, for instance:

  • Red chillies appear and grow in varied shape, sizes and structure, most important aspect is that every kind of red chillies have a distinct flavour, aroma and usages
  • Red chillies may be found in powder form, crush, flacks, grounded and whole, however, it depends on their usage and recipes
  • Flavour vice, red chillies may be found a mild, hot and extra hot flavour for the palate 
  • Red chillies are part of everyday usage in most of the cuisines, for instance:
    • Dahi bare mix
    • chat masala
    • Biryani, qorma, fish curry, kabob, pickles lentils and many more cuisines
  • Nowadays it is used in most of the spices for creating a recipe and aroma
  • Red chillies surprisingly heighten the flavour of a dish, stimulate and please the taste buds, help in metabolism and digestion

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the significance of COVID-19 safety measures and their impact on the current situation around the world. In today's blog I am lettering and penning for creating awareness and highlighting the significance of safety measures to stop the spread of novel coronavirus, for instance:

1. Two-meter social distance: Since the spread of novel coronavirus, the two-meter social distance law is being practiced for our safety and to stop the spread of novel coronavirus. I am thankful for this decision for keeping all of us safe and secure. Two-meter social distance not only prevents the spread of coronavirus but other contagious viruses too

2. Wearing mask: This is another preventive measure to protect oneself and others from spreading the novel coronavirus. Mask is the blessing and benefits to prevent the spread of the virus. As a responsible citizen, we all require to follow public health guidelines for everyone's safety

3. Hand washing: This is the public health guideline to wash hands frequently for controlling the spread of novel coronavirus. I am thankful for these measures and guidelines 

4. Stay at home order Nowadays is being imposed to control the spread of variant and novel coronavirus. This is for our protection and we all need to respect and appreciate the value of this safety measure

I recognize and acknowledge the significance of these standards and guidelines for our safety and protection. Please follow public health guidelines is the request of the day

 Melon Seeds



Today I am grateful for and appreciate the flavour and nutrients of melon seeds. It is my practice since a young age to wash and dry melon seeds. Eating melon seeds is my favourite snack and engaging activity. Melon comes in a variety of sizes, flavouring and tone. I recognize and acknowledge melon seeds for a variety of reasons, for instance:

  • Melon seeds are a bonus and premium of the fruit. It is free of cost and most of the time, people through it away 
  • Melon seeds are packed and loaded with flavour, taste and zest. People love skinning and consuming it. It is eaten raw, roasted, salty and added spices
  • Seeds contain a variety of nutrients, vitamins and minerals. It is beneficial for the brain as it is a part of CHAR MUGHZ. Most of the Hakeem manage to treat varied diseases with these seeds
  • Melon seeds require certain skills to eat, for instance, how to hold, unwrap the treasure and then eat it. I witnessed some children eat with its shell on 
  • Melon seeds shell is used in art n craft project as it is an environment friendly 
  • Eating melon seeds requires focus and concentration. It promotes sharpen eye and hand coordination
  • Melon seeds are part of the season, culture, practices and lifestyle
  • Eating melon seeds is a mindful exercise, it produces comfort, convenience and engaging activity. You may find endurance, patience, self-control perseverance and tolerance as temperament and character in connection to eating melon seeds
  • I used melon seeds every year to plant melons and have its bulb and shoot every summer. While its progression for the fruits, its cause joy and happiness 
  • These precious and delicious seeds used for various purposes for instance:
    • It is used in a fruit salad
    • Utilized in jams and marmalades
    • Juice or sharbat
    • Halwa and sweets 
    • Vegetarian salad
    • You may find its oil

Today I am grateful for and acknowledge the importance of Tennis as a sport. I recognize its significance way more as a sport or a game. My family including me play this sport often. I discovered how this sport affecting us positively and empathetically. I noticed its blessings for many reasons, for instance:

  • Playing Tennis is a sort of collaboration, alliance and teamwork between 2-4 people at a time. While playing, they cooperate, support and encourage each other to have a right ball
  • Playing tennis assists to stimulate all body muscles rigorously, including, head to toe. It benefits to regulate the internal body system, metabolism and all glands. Somehow it is related to good sleep, positive mood, digestion and other body functioning
  • Tennis not only tones muscles but boosts flexibility in them. Playing tennis is heighten harmony between mind, body and soul 
  • Tennis requires good eye and hand coordination, if you don't have that, don't worry, soon you might develop coordination directing to fine motor skills
  • Playing tennis may improve focus and concentration as is the key element of this sport. If you play regularly, it may heighten both focus and concentration
  • Tennis is a highly engaging sport to capture all senses and make you mindful to beat the right ball
  • If you developed and strengthened all related skills for playing tennis then you may participate in any tournament or maybe a member of any league

Samosa


Today I am grateful for and appreciate the flavour of samosa for delightfully tickling the taste buds. Today I prepared a bunch of samosa with the collaboration of my all family members including my hubby. Samosa, however, is in the transition phase as time has been passing, the flavour, texture and fillings are evolving. Nowadays, you may encounter and discover a samosa in a varied taste, aroma and shape around the world. You may describe it as wonton, fried cover patty, fried wrap and anything wrap and fried or baked is belong to the family of samosa. For manufacturing and eating samosa at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic, I realized and acknowledge its significance for many reasons, for instance:

  • Making samosa with the family is a kind of teamwork as one person spreading samosa sheet, other one wrapping and folding in a samosa shape with added filling, last one securing its edges and then deep-frying. It is a wonderful and enjoyable collaboration, partnership and alliance for making samosa with the family
  • I discover it is a highly engaging and interactive activity for children. They talk, laugh, discuss and make their own version of samosa. It gives them a sense of achievement and being part of the samosa project at home. In other words, they are the helping hand for the homemaker 
  • For children, it is a great learning opportunity to figure out, how to wrap, fold and secure edges. It helps them to focus and concentrate on the process, if unfold further, it refines and improves their eye and hand coordination
  • At this time of the COVID 19, it is most beneficial to have homemade samosa as it is safe, healthy and nutritious. There is no need to go outside and spend $
  • You may encounter a variety of samosa, for instance, meat or mince, potato, chicken, prawn, fish, Chinese, vegetarian, Arabic, fried, baked and steam. It is eaten with ketchup, green chutney, sweet savour chutney, plum chutney and sprinkle chat masala to enhance its flavour
  • Samosa is usually eaten as a snack with afternoon tea but for most families, it is the must item for Ramadan. Nowadays, samosa chat is in demand, is a blend of samosa and chat with added papri, salad, sauces and chat masala
  • In some cultures, it is served as an appetizer, snack, part of a lunch box and go n grab food. It is equally popular in all socioeconomic status and generations 
  • Samosa is a blessing with an aromatic crust, aroma and flavour to tickle and amuse taste buds. Flavouring and zest of samosa is beyond explanation and no one can deny its worth in our life
  • The best samosa for me in the world is the Karachi University's canteen samosa, still, taste buds miss that punch, exite and tickle in my mouth. To be very honest, whenever I was at University road, I drove inside the University, bought at least 2 dozen and ate them all (it is tiny and small in size)

Today I am grateful for and acknowledge the value of Saturday. Saturday is the commencement of the weekend. The purpose and meaning of Saturday vary from person to person, from situation to situation and culture to culture. Saturday perpetually induces relaxation, comfort and peace of mind as no requirement to begin a day with alarm or in hurry. Most of the workplaces are off on Saturdays. I recognize its significance for various reasons, for instance:

  • Saturday is the assigned holiday for the rest of the countries around the world, people habitually turn off their alarm on this day for enjoying a few more hours of sleep
  • People normally do groceries, shopping and  visit supermarket or mall
  • Before COVID 19, Saturday had been enjoyed visiting farmhouses, beaches, shores or lakefront for relaxation and comfort
  • Most of the celebrations, for instance, anniversary dinner, birthday parties and candlelight dinners were part of Saturdays before COVID 19
  • Laundry, ironing and preparing for the week are some of the rituals for many people around the world
  • BBQ parties and inviting guests for lunch or dinner were the customs for many people before this pandemic
  • People visited art galleries, Theaters, Cinemas, Museums, exhibitions, Science centres and aquariums for soothing their aesthetic sense before this novel coronavirus
  • Some might be indulged in swimming, jogging, tracking, fishing, camping, boating and cruising on Saturdays before this pandemic
  • Now Saturday is spent following public health guidelines as a precaution against the spread of novel coronavirus
  • How do you spend Saturday at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic is the question of the day

Ramadan Journal

 


Today I am thankful for and appreciate the significance of the Ramadan Journal for addressing the essence and precise meaning of Ramadan while finishing tasks on daily basis. This Ramadan Journal is designed by Afsheen, Iman and Amal for children of ages 5-16 years old. My children 11 and 13 have been executing since the first day of Ramadan. I am grateful to Afsheen and her daughters for this awe-inspiring journal for children for promoting the true fragrance of Ramadan. I recognize its value for various reasons, for instance:

  • This journal is outlined in a way to learn, memorize, read, write, draw and thought every day. The child has to be mindful of completing the everyday task
  • Every day starts with the question of the day, to think or search a topic about Iman and reflect on it. It is a beneficial exercise for children to interpret concepts and philosophy of Ramadan
  • Child than colour only three names of Allah, learn and memorize. At the end of Ramadan 99 names of Allah will be part of the child. It is incredible
  • The "Create an assortment" part is extremely impressive for reminding a child to think deeply and unfold the perspectives related to Ramadan
  • The "Deed of the Day" caption is thought-provoking and advances a child to be mindful of the deed of the day. Every day a child strives to produce the best deed of the day, that's what I noticed in my case 
  • The "Thought of the day" is an excellent way for reviewing a day, unfolding the essence of Ramadan and reflecting. They are now mindful of Ramadan and ask questions
  • Prayer tracker and Quran tracker are the best ways to pursue salah on time and read Quran. It reminds them of the significance of prayers and Quran throughout the Ramadan. It proffers them a sense of achievements daily
  • The "Daily Checklist" evokes them to perform certain tasks as a spirit of Ramadan 
  • There are some art and crafts activities of Ramadan. This is an impressive way to teach a child the true spirit of Ramadan and Islam. It is an informal and fun-loving idea for children to engage at the same time
  • There are many reminders, thoughts, insights and reflections about the genuine spirit of Ramadan
  • That's my journey of explaining and developing the true essence of Ramadan to my children via this Ramadan journal, discover yours is the advice of the day

Today I am grateful for and recognize the significance of Chat masala to please, gratify and spice up my taste buds. Chat masala constitutes more than 10 ingredients and it tastes spicy, kind of tangy, savoury and with added chilli flavouring. You may discover personalities exactly like chat masala to add value and flavour to life. How this comparison or analogy transforms to investigate the layer of any relationship is the thought of the day. I appreciate the value of chat masala for many reasons, for instance:

  • Chat masala surprisingly supplements value, aroma, power and zest to the food, even for some food, the flavour is half-done without adding the chat masala. Chat masala extremely aromatic and has the capacity to enhance appetite. You can investigate or compare the flavour to eat the following food with and without chat masala, for instance:

Mental Health Rapid Response Community Leadership Program




Today I am grateful for Mental Health Rapid Response Community Leadership Program for encouraging me to write about my experience, how this program impacted me and what I learned from this program that has been helpful for me since the training on November 21, 2020. I appreciate and recognize its significance for many reasons, for instance:

  • This training session was over the zoom, extremely convenient to join at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic while social distancing law was imposed. No requirement to travel or preparations, just need to check internet connectivity
  • This program was funded and cost-effective for the participants as it was free and trainee received 100 $ for this training and certification
  • Rapid Response Community Leadership Program was a blend of a variety of knowledge pieces for instance:
    • How to notice and recognize the sign of distress?
    • Communication for understanding concerns
    • Usage of proper and appropriate language
    • How to convey or express a message of hope?
    • How to manage a crisis situation?
    • Why self-care is significant?
  • Rapid Response Community Leadership training was incredible for unfolding deep layers of mental health and well-being. My knowledge was developed and enhanced as far as mental health is concerned
  • I found myself more genuine, reliable, empathic, an appropriate response to the situation, listening and focusing on self-care at the same time
  • The rapid Response Community Leadership session was well delivered and presented on the mental health concerns 
  • Now I am connected via telegraph to a Rapid Response Community Leadership General Channel. This is an excellent platform to connect other community leaders
  • Many sessions I attended that truly enhanced my knowledge and awareness
  • Rapid Response Community Leadership General Channel is now a global village for me to expand my horizon of understanding concerning mental health
  • I discovered various valuable and practical resources at this platform for excellence while addressing mental health concerns at this time of the COVID 19. I have prepared a specific folder containing all resources named "Community of Practice". I noticed further growth in my career development
  • I acknowledge and recognize that Rapid Response Community Leadership program was a blessing for me at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic

Today I am grateful for proposing a session at the Malton Bazm-e-Khawateen platform. This session was coordinated by Gulnaz Rehan and the subject was addressed "Emotional Care and COVID 19". Everyone around the globe was impacted by COVID 19 at some point in their life. Anyhow, it has influenced emotions negatively. I appreciate and acknowledge the significance of today's session for various reasons, for instance:

  • At this time of the COVID 19 pandemic, this is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to participate and learn strategies over Facebook. It was convenient and easy to join around the world
  • There is no requirement to dress up or travel as it was over the virtual tone
  • This session was safe and secure to share thoughts and feelings
  • Today's session was Emotional care and COVID 19, taken knowledge of pieces were:
    • What are emotions and how it is evolving?   
    • What are the triggers and how can emotions be identified for better management?
    • Strategies were taught and demonstrated for instance:

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the significance of YouTube for positivity and advancement in our thought and vision. YouTube is the Google app and producing transformation at distinct levels in our life. YouTube is used for a variety of reasons however, its usage depends on our knowledge and vision. I acknowledge and recognize its benefit for multiple reasons, for instance:

  • YouTube is the most convenient app to install and managed or operate for any purpose or motive
  • Youtube is an incredible tool for everyone to learn skills while staying at home at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic 
  • Personally, I used YouTube for the following reasons:
    • Learned applying henna 
    • For baking and cooking purpose
    • For coaching, mentoring
    • Get guidance in mental health, listen to renowned scholars 
    • Parenting and learning life skills via amazing academics around the world
    • Recycling, repurpose stuff and  learned incredible techniques 
  • For children, it is a magnificent tool to learn sketching, painting, doodling, art and craft  and many more 
  • Even you can fix any problem or conflict to search and watch for the solution
  • You may discover excellent videos for gardening, landscaping, cleaning and sanitization
  • From home decor to sewing, stitching and embroidery purposes, YouTube is part of our daily living
  • People have faith teachings, history and can find archives on YouTube on any given topic to broaden their wisdom and knowledge
  • It is a great source to learn meditation, yoga, deep breathing and nourish your mind, body and soul for wellness 
  • It's simple to start a YouTube channel of your interest and start earning dollar once it is monetized
  • For many people, it is the source of watching dramas, films, shows, choreography and  songs

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the value of instant chargers in my life for renewing and rejuvenating my energy and vitality.
