Today I am grateful to CMHA-Hamilton for organizing such an amazing and thought-provoking webinar on "Mild Brain Injury and Mental Illness" coordinated by Jill Dennison, Mikaela Ivanco and facilitated by Nick Petrella, a community and national advocate in mental health and wellness. This webinar highlighted the significance of mild brain injury and its connection to mental health problems. I appreciate and acknowledge the value of this webinar for various reasons, for instance:
- This webinar is extremely cost-effective, at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic. It is free of charge and proposes financial relief to the audience. It was a magnificent support
- All of the series of webinars over the zoom, profoundly convenient to join, no need to travel via TTC, and no need to formally dressed up, you really require to check internet connectivity. At this time while staying at home order now enforced, this virtual tone was highly effective and beneficial for all participants
- This webinar also helped participants further advancement of their professional growth, insight and broaden vision in that given subject
- The taken philosophies and notions from this webinar, for instance:
- Meaning and significance of mental health
- Types of traumatic brain injury
- The connection between mental illness and mild brain injury
- The importance of statistics for understanding the significance of mild brain injury
- The impact of stigma and a variety of pieces connected to explain the stigma
- The invisible injuries with real signs and symptoms (concussion)
- Behaviour, physical and cognitive symptoms

- Cognitive symptoms, long-term and short-term
- Concussion and connection to suicide
