Reflection-Gratitude practice 365



Today I am grateful for the flow of the series of blog "gratitude practise 365". Successfully completed three months without missing a single day, delay or pause. Today's March 31st, 2021 and since January 1st, 2021 still exploring perspectives linked to gratitude or in other words, the journey of gratitude is still ON. I am contented with the continuity and flow of my purpose for penning blogs. I have absolutely hooked on writing, typing and drafting blogs, for many reasons, for instance:

  • These blogs are the source of inspiration for many folks and I know a few of them are interested to start a blog. Even some of them request me to propose a session for creating a blog so this series brings me business opportunities
  • After completing three months, my writing skills and sentence formation improved a lot, even I can sense that difference
  • Writing blogs on daily basis also supporting my typing skills, no need to practice typing
  • Gratitude Practise 365 blogs continue prompting me to address something for being grateful in my life
  • Writing blogs, itself is an excellent source of satisfaction and gives a sense of achievement on daily basis in my life 
  • These blogs, I still admire the writing, so will be continuing writing till 31st December 2021
  • It has been proffering a sense of discovery, innovation and creativity 
  • These blogs bring opportunity for many children or people to draw, create, paint, sketch and capture a photo for these blogs. All pictures are real and owned the copyright 
  • Presently at this spotlight, I believed that everything is enough in life, shifting the paradigm to look at the situation precisely

 Sun




Today I am grateful for the sun and its importance in our life. Sun is the crucial element for the survival and life on earth and at the same time, it is the part of the galaxy. Sun is moving in its orbit since it had been discovered. This earth's survival is dependent on this sun. I acknowledge and appreciate its significance in our lives, for example:

  • The existence of life on this earth is dependant on SUN, however, it is far from the earth 
  • Sunset and sunrise are the most stunning views of the sun and various routines attached with these two phenomena, for instance,
    • Muslims keep fast before sunrise and break after sunset during the month of Ramadan, even Muslims offer five times salah from sunrise to sunset 
    • In other faiths, people celebrate ceremonies during sunrise
  • Sun rays are extremely valuable for various stuff for instance:
    • It stimulates photosynthesis in plants
    • Sunlight helps to dry wet clothes
    • Even you can make pickle or even dry red chillies and other spices
    • Sunlight makes our bones stronger by producing Vit D
    • Some people do meditation while sunrise or sunset
    • In most of the European countries, people purposefully suntan their skin while long exposure to the sun
  • Survival without the sun is impossible, few regions have life even 6 months with sun and 6 months without sun
  • The importance of the sun on this earth is beyond explanation, and life without the sun is beyond imagination. Think deeply and wisely

 Wellness during COVID 19


Today I am grateful for and appreciate The Neighbourhood Offices's contribution to the community at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic. Today's session was highly significant in a sense to touch the subject of wellbeing and mental health.  Wellness during COVID 19 series and today's title was "How to improve your mood when feeling down" facilitated by Riffat Fatima. Her contribution is remarkable to the community when everyone necessitates support and a sense of connectivity at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic, while social gatherings are outlawed. Facilitaor shared 42 scientifically proven ways to improve mood, which surely encouraged to promote insight and understanding on the proffered subject. I recognize Riffat Fatima's efforts and appreciate this session for many reasons, for instance:

  • Today's session was emphatically significant to learn and adapt strategies regarding improving mood while feeling down, taken strategies are from the session:
    • Identify and Focus on the triggers that make you feel down. Once know triggers then do not take a major decision rather be active, not reactive 
    • Some people relate themselves with the food to lifting their mood, for instance, eating and enjoying Dahi bara chat, green chillies omelette, gol guppy and sometimes a cup of tea or coffee. Some people eat junk food while feeling low others may opt for frying items, such as, pakora, french fries or fried chicken
    • Some people mentioned the best for them is to talk to someone that might be a friend, colleague, neighbour, cousin, parents, siblings or even uncle/aunt. After talking to them, they feel relieved or relaxed and feel an instant change in their mood. I would say these people are instant charger in our life
    • Dressed up and apply some makeup is worked for some people. It is a good idea to improve the look. Somehow it is an effective and a practical strategy
    • Take a pause or break from routine also help to heighten your mood
    • Crochet, sewing, manage closet, cooking and baking were mentioned for heightening mood
    • Watching a movie, listening to music, Youtube videos and dramas were the strategies for some people in the session
    • Some people seemed to relax and find instant change in their mood after going for a walk and connect themselves with nature
    • Taking shower, faith study, reading a book or novel were also discussed as coping strategies
    • Personally, I do nothing, just rest and rest if not feeling up just to give myself a break from my busy routine
  • These sessions are safe, secure and protected via virtual mode at this time of the COIVD 19 pandemic, while staying at home
  • Over the zoom, it is highly advantageous, beneficial and worthwhile to the community. No need to drive, no need to dress up or travel via TTC, merely need to monitor internet connectivity 
  • These sessions are an excellent platform and a floor to learn from each other
  • Everyone feels encouraged, respected and supported to be heard or listened
  • These sessions were cost-effective, free of charge and welcome anyone from the community. It was a kind of virtual community meetup and engagement event
  • Today's sessions encouraged the audience to share and get inspired by each other's ideas for boosting mood. Nowadays, everyone needs some thoughts and strategies for well-being. In this paradigm, TNO plays a vital role in creating awareness in the community and in the end community get supported👍  
  • Everyone had endured and mentioned some boost and hike in the mood
  • Find your nearby wellness cafe or sessions for discovering new strategies and approaches at this time of the COVID 19 is the advice of the day

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the significance of indoor games playing with family members. Indoor games are incredible for connecting and enjoying with each other at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic while social distancing is being practiced. Indoor games are a blessing at this time. Carem board, liddu, board games, video games and puzzles are few examples. I acknowledge its value and benefit for many reasons, for instance:

  • Indoor games are the safest, protected and secure mode of entertainment and fun at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic
  • In various regions of the world, yet, recreational activities are outlawed, therefore indoor games are a blessing to engage and connect with
  • Indoor games instantly connect with the family members and proffer a sense of belongingness and connectivity
  • Indoor games unfold joy, pleasure, happiness and change the family environment
  • It germinates a relation to the next level if plays with brother, sister, parents or grand parents
  • Indoor games help to reduce the conflict and promote bondage with the family
  • Playing indoor games induce amusement and relaxation and at the same time it ends boredom
  • It affects thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviour. Indoor games positively affect our mood

Today I am grateful for baking homemade Scoones and cake rusk. Homemade Scoones and cake rusk are absolutely fresh, delicious and trustworthy to use at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic. I appreciate and recognize baking as an incredible process for many reasons, for instance:

  • Baking is a highly engaging process, as my children get involved from start to end. During baking  a variety of process involve and every single process has a tremendous impact on the behaviour and thought process of a child, for example:
    • Children measure a variety of ingredients and learn the different processes involved. It benefits them to estimate and figure out the right way of preparing dough or recipe
    • Baking likewise encourages them to focus and understand the process and at the same time their eye and hand coordination sharpen or strengthen
    • Their fine motor and gross motor skills improve while helping 
    • They discover and learn measurement, mixing, temperature, brushing, oiling and other procedures
    • They blend ingredients with joy and delightfully and it affects their mood too

  • Baking with the family members positively affect the relationship and gives them a sense of connectivity and belongingness

  • Tissue paper is being used for various purposes however, it depends on the situation and its usage as well. Originally, it was a part of western countries momentarily, its usage radiated all over the regions in the world
  • Tissue paper comes in various patterns and applications, for instance, pocket formate, box, rolls, wet, wipes and loos tissues and every form has a distinct purpose and utilization
  • Pocket size is for the purses, pouches school bags, pockets and carries in hands
  • Tissue paper helps to absorb perspiration and keep drying a wet surface, specifically kitchen countertop
  •  Wet tissue paper assist in cleaning mirrors and glasses

 "ME" Time



Today I am grateful for being aware of the significance of "ME" time for stable emotional strength and well-being. "ME" time primarily means uninterrupted moments for relaxation. At this time of the COVID 19 pandemic, everyone needs some time to calm down or recharge energies to better cope with the day-to-day needs and requirements.  ME time might be a 15-minute break from the daily tasks but it is up to you to have 2 to 4 breaks per day. You can surpass it if you desire or you can create a 30-minute break. Me time can be utilized by various means, for instance:

  • Listening to the favourite music
  • Have a cup of tea or coffee 
  • Eat any fruit mindfully
  • Do some stretches
  • Take a short nap
  • Read a favourite novel, book or blogs
  • Heading for a trek and enjoying nature
  • Have a warm bath and lit some scented candles
  • Sit peacefully and listen to your thoughts and feelings

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the significance of salt in our life and cuisines. Salt is the most essential and necessary ingredient and seasoning of every meal except sweet courses. There are several varieties of salt in practice, for instance, regular salt, Himalayan salt, black salt and pink salt. Salt not only a bit of meals preparation but additionally serve multiple purposes,  for instance:

  • Salt is part of the majority of cuisines around the world, the perfect measure of salt is the guarantee of taste in food and less or exceeded salt can ruin the taste
  • From breakfast, for the omelet, boil eggs, halwa pori and pancakes till dinner in the Chinese, Pakistani, Italian or afghani cuisines, salt is the basic ingredient with other seasonings

Today I am grateful for and acknowledge the significance of Pakore for delighting our taste buds. Pakore is a part of our everyday life and everyone appreciates eating it. Pakore is evolving by its taste, characters and types. I appreciate its worth, value and power for several reasons, for instance:

  • Pakore is part of various festivities, for instance, Ramadan, hi-tea, and Basant and merely for changing taste buds tickling
  • There is no explicit time to consume or make it, however, it depends on your thoughts, emotions and feelings, at the same time it is highly contagious in a way if you just catch the word pakora or notice it smell or view its picture, you might be making some (after reading this blog you might be making some😊)
  • Pakore is the source of pleasure, happiness and satisfaction, it's my perception that pakora is linked with well-being and mental health because its taste and pleasure is beyond explanation (much research needed)
  • It tastes double or sometimes triple in flavour if eaten with friends or family
  • It is convenient, easy to make, time-saving and cost-effective bites
  • Pakore goes very well with tamarind sauce, green sauce, chat masala, sweet savour plum sauce and  ketchup
  • Pakore is acceptable in any mode, tone and texture and is eaten delightfully, most important aspect is that every single kind has a specific taste and  punch to our taste buds, for instance:
    • Aloo pakora is the favourite among children, seniors and Go n Grab the item
    • Green chilli pakora is the most favourite for gentlewomen, green chilli is filled with some spices then coated with gram flour and fried. It is delightfully spicy and its flavour lasts for an hour in our taste buds

    • Onion pakoras are appreciated by all communities, age groups and socioeconomic status. It goes pretty well in curry and rice

    • Now chicken, fish, Chinese, mince, and prawn pakoras are part of our life in a variety of festivities and celebrations
  • You may find pakora in a variety of cultures, regions and communities with distinct titles and make with varying styles but you can identify it as a pakora
  • Pakore is the complete meal for various people, usually, people take it with bread, roti or nan with added sauce

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the significance of books in our life. Books are a blessing to strengthen wisdom and insight for evolving various perspectives. It is said that "Books are the best friends" perhaps it compliments friendship or I would say it is more than friends. Books are stairs for or a passage of achievements in one's life. Books are of many representations and adopted for distinctive purposes

  • Curriculum books help to understand a specific subject and give direction to our perception
  • Non-fiction and fiction books also significant for expanding sagacity and heighten our knowledge
  • Self-development books help to develop skills for further advancement in your personal, social and professional life
  • Novels are likewise part of day-to-day reading. Novels are full of life lessons and source of inspiration in various cases
  • Faith books for helping to harmonize mind body and soul

  • Storybooks are linked with the building vocabulary, broaden the vision, achievement and high grades 
  • There is no doubt for the importance of books are definitely beyond explanation

  • It is strongly recommended to read at least one fiction or non-fiction book in a year 
  • Try to develop a reading habit by start reading two lines in a day and slowly and gradually increases to three-lines then half paragraph and whenever comfortable start reading one or two pages in a day

Green chillies have a very distinct flavour and zest and it varies from recipe to recipe and person to person. Its significance is inevitable. Green chillies are available in the form of frozen, dried and fresh. I appreciate green chillies for various reasons, for instance:

  • Green chillies are packed and loaded with vitamin C, green colour and fibre 
  • It holds a very distinct flavour, is pungent, aromatic and pleases your taste buds
  • Green chillies compliments a variety of recipes, especially this kind of chillies
  • Biryani, pulao, green tikka, vegetables and vege pakoras do not reach their peak flavour without green chillies

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the day called "Saturday". Saturday is part of the weekend. The significance and purpose of Saturday vary from person to person and from situation to situation. Its importance is undeniable. I acknowledge and recognize the value of Saturday for several reasons, for instance:

  • Saturday carries happiness, pleasure and joy in our lives, given the fact, it is the prime day to break the work cycle
  • Most of the time Saturday linked to peace, calm and comfort because there is no rush to get ready for office or business
  • People normally have a special breakfast on Saturdays, but it varies from culture to culture, for instance:
  • Halwa pori and chickpeas curry
  • Paratha, omelette and cup of tea
  • Paya, qeema and Nihari
  • Pancakes with honey and butter
  • Sometimes people get their biweekly wages on Saturdays
  • Distinctive meals are prepared in most families around the world
  • People endeavour on their unfinished businesses on Saturdays
  • People oftentimes focus on cleaning, laundry, ironing, and gardening 
  • Most of the festivals, feast or invitations, get together and BBQ is a bit of Saturday plannings
  • Saturday is the opportunity for puzzles, video games, crosswords for people in some region of the world
  • Hair cut, facial and nail cutting is the ritual of Saturday in most families 
  • Most of the weddings or Valima ceremonies are part of the Saturday
  • People habitually watch a show or a movie on Saturdays, its movie night for most families or gatherings
  • This was the day for outings, camping, kayaking, fishing, trips, tours and visiting museums or art galleries before COVID 19. Momentarily, the circumstances have changed due to the novel coronavirus
  • Saturday customarily a day for dining out with the family or someone significant in your life
  • Shopping and groceries are likewise a part of Saturday outlining
  • People generally postpone their significant days on weekdays and celebrate it chiefly on Saturday, for instance, birthdays, anniversaries and celebrations

Today I am grateful for nature and its radiation in our life. Nature is the most astonishing and surprising perspective of this universe. All the time we are amazed and startled by a variety of appearances every day. I am genuinely grateful for nature and my gratitude is beyond explanation. Every single occurrence has its own significance and narrates us something. Nature brings many surprises and wonders when it comes to the sun, moon, clouds, air, stars, galaxy, plants, birds, animals, rain, storms, earthquake, water, sounds, and many more. Today I appreciate its significance for several purposes, for instance:

  • Nature reserved of bewilderment and  surprises and every time we are speechless for its wonders and phenomena
  • Nature is surprisingly thoughtful and begets a calming, relaxing and soothing collision on our five senses, for instance:
    • Sunset and sunrise are the most amazing and marvellous illustrations in the world and available free to observe and thoughtful, personally I admire the sunset and managed to go to Seaview every week with my family to view this marvellous nature
    • Moon and especially full moon begetting a mesmerizing impression on our senses. The full moon is surprisingly charming and several poets relate it to symbolize the beauty and grace
    • Stars and the galaxy embellish this universe and possess their own significance in the cosmos
    • Clouds and the rain are other fascinations of nature. Rain brings many customs and traditions in a variety of regions in the world, for instance, Basant, farming and cooking pakora, kachori and samosa are a few examples. Raindrop vibration is extremely meditative
    • Plants and the landscapes around the world beautify this earth and certainly provoke our thoughts to be in a mode of admiration
    • Birds and a variety of animals belong to this nature too. Have you ever heard the birds sound, they talk to each other, its deeply studious and calming impression on our senses
  • This is my journey with nature and it is beyond limits. I will be writing blogs for every single aspect of nature, as the goal is 365 blogs in 2021. This journey continues
  • Find some moments and be with nature and try to reflect on something, is the recommendation of the day

Today I am grateful for attending Solution Focused Coaching training from TRIEC Mentoring Partnership as I have been working with them as a mentor in the mental health field since January 2021. Solution Focused Coaching (SFC) for mentors facilitated by Tina Virmani-Learning specialist, TRIEC Mentoring. I appreciate and recognize its significance for many reasons, for instance:

  • It facilitated the knowledge context and supported to understand or unfold the solution-focused coaching dimensions
  • At this time of the COVID 19 pandemic, it was over the zoom, easy to connect, cost-effective and there is no need to travel
  • Discovered 3 take-ups principles:
    • You don't have to understand the problem to find a solution
    • Focusing on the future creates a more useful outcome
    • Effective change can occur through small steps
  • This session encouraged me to focus on what is required and what is not
  • I acknowledge and appreciate the significance of further extension and advancement in my career growth via this session

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the significance of WhatsApp in our life at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic. Each application has pros and cons however, unquestionably, it depends on its usage. How do we utilize or manage, that mirrors our intellect and wisdom? Today I comprehend and embrace its significance for various reasons, for instance:

  • WhatsApp is infinitely convenient, handy, available, and comfortable to manage 
  • It is cost-effective and free of charge, merely require the internet connectivity
  • At this time of COVID 19, WhatsApp makes the world a global village. Information, report and data around the world, just click away
  • Throughout the lockdown, and travels restrictions, Whatsapp is the true blessing to connect with the people around the world
  • WhatsApp proffers a sense of connectivity and belongingness and at the same time strikes peace of mind and affect your well-being 
  • At the same time, you can be a member of multiple groups to socialize
  • Everything momentarily via WhatsApp is a just click away. It promotes sharing is caring or caring is sharing, an analogy
  • People share, discuss, listen, argue even fight with each other via WhatsApp
  • On WhatsApp, people update their status and it remains 24  hours 
  • Through the conference call option, 4 people can connect at a time and communicate, debate and teach
  • Nowadays people attend celebrations, festivals, parties, and even worship over the WhatsApp
  • I personally attended many weddings back home over WhatsApp as living in the distinct time zone
  • WhatsApp is the means of sharing your joy, giggle and chuckle, memories, sorrows and even grievings
