 Saturday and its festivities

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the day called "Saturday". Saturday is part of the weekend. The significance and purpose of Saturday vary from person to person and from situation to situation. Its importance is undeniable. I acknowledge and recognize the value of Saturday for several reasons, for instance:

  • Saturday carries happiness, pleasure and joy in our lives, given the fact, it is the prime day to break the work cycle
  • Most of the time Saturday linked to peace, calm and comfort because there is no rush to get ready for office or business
  • People normally have a special breakfast on Saturdays, but it varies from culture to culture, for instance:
  • Halwa pori and chickpeas curry
  • Paratha, omelette and cup of tea
  • Paya, qeema and Nihari
  • Pancakes with honey and butter
  • Sometimes people get their biweekly wages on Saturdays
  • Distinctive meals are prepared in most families around the world
  • People endeavour on their unfinished businesses on Saturdays
  • People oftentimes focus on cleaning, laundry, ironing, and gardening 
  • Most of the festivals, feast or invitations, get together and BBQ is a bit of Saturday plannings
  • Saturday is the opportunity for puzzles, video games, crosswords for people in some region of the world
  • Hair cut, facial and nail cutting is the ritual of Saturday in most families 
  • Most of the weddings or Valima ceremonies are part of the Saturday
  • People habitually watch a show or a movie on Saturdays, its movie night for most families or gatherings
  • This was the day for outings, camping, kayaking, fishing, trips, tours and visiting museums or art galleries before COVID 19. Momentarily, the circumstances have changed due to the novel coronavirus
  • Saturday customarily a day for dining out with the family or someone significant in your life
  • Shopping and groceries are likewise a part of Saturday outlining
  • People generally postpone their significant days on weekdays and celebrate it chiefly on Saturday, for instance, birthdays, anniversaries and celebrations
