Samosa
Today I am grateful for and appreciate the flavour of samosa for delightfully tickling the taste buds. Today I prepared a bunch of samosa with the collaboration of my all family members including my hubby. Samosa, however, is in the transition phase as time has been passing, the flavour, texture and fillings are evolving. Nowadays, you may encounter and discover a samosa in a varied taste, aroma and shape around the world. You may describe it as wonton, fried cover patty, fried wrap and anything wrap and fried or baked is belong to the family of samosa. For manufacturing and eating samosa at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic, I realized and acknowledge its significance for many reasons, for instance:
- Making samosa with the family is a kind of teamwork as one person spreading samosa sheet, other one wrapping and folding in a samosa shape with added filling, last one securing its edges and then deep-frying. It is a wonderful and enjoyable collaboration, partnership and alliance for making samosa with the family
- I discover it is a highly engaging and interactive activity for children. They talk, laugh, discuss and make their own version of samosa. It gives them a sense of achievement and being part of the samosa project at home. In other words, they are the helping hand for the homemaker
- For children, it is a great learning opportunity to figure out, how to wrap, fold and secure edges. It helps them to focus and concentrate on the process, if unfold further, it refines and improves their eye and hand coordination
- At this time of the COVID 19, it is most beneficial to have homemade samosa as it is safe, healthy and nutritious. There is no need to go outside and spend $
- You may encounter a variety of samosa, for instance, meat or mince, potato, chicken, prawn, fish, Chinese, vegetarian, Arabic, fried, baked and steam. It is eaten with ketchup, green chutney, sweet savour chutney, plum chutney and sprinkle chat masala to enhance its flavour
- Samosa is usually eaten as a snack with afternoon tea but for most families, it is the must item for Ramadan. Nowadays, samosa chat is in demand, is a blend of samosa and chat with added papri, salad, sauces and chat masala
- In some cultures, it is served as an appetizer, snack, part of a lunch box and go n grab food. It is equally popular in all socioeconomic status and generations
- Samosa is a blessing with an aromatic crust, aroma and flavour to tickle and amuse taste buds. Flavouring and zest of samosa is beyond explanation and no one can deny its worth in our life
- The best samosa for me in the world is the Karachi University's canteen samosa, still, taste buds miss that punch, exite and tickle in my mouth. To be very honest, whenever I was at University road, I drove inside the University, bought at least 2 dozen and ate them all (it is tiny and small in size)
- What is your connection with the samosa? is the thought of the day
