Managing Acute Opioid Withdrawal

Today I am grateful for and acknowledge the untiring efforts of EHN Canada for promoting and spreading the words of mental health issues and addiction. Today's webinar titled "Managing Acute Opioid Withdrawl" was hosted by Jeremy Houston and facilitated by Dr. Speranza Dolgetta (MD, Ph.D., CCFP), medical director, Bellwood Health Services. Today's webinar was meaningful and significant due to the news  The Globe and Mail that drug overdoses have claimed the lives of more than 20,000 Canadians since 2016. This webinar helped to understand the related segments and their management. I recognize and appreciate the value of today's webinar for a variety of reasons, for instance:

  • EHN Canada is being offered a variety of webinars for spreading awareness and knowledge concerning mental health and addiction. Since pandemic, webinars and workshops are facilitated virtually. It is highly convenient and comfortable to join. No need to drive or take TTC, no need to be formally dressed up, just need to monitor the internet connectivity
  • Being a professional and a mental health practitioner I comprehend the significance of webinars as they develop and enhance the understanding of mental health and addiction awareness. It supported further advancement for professional development
  • The taken insight and knowledge from today's webinar:
    • Opioid crisis: Past and present
    • Opioid intoxication, signs, symptoms and pharmacology
    • Opioid poisoning/overdose and risk factors for poisoning

  • This is my ongoing journey with EHN Canada and it grants me a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction with the thought that I learned something new
