Raita - Traditional Sauce

 Raita - Traditional Sauce

Today I am grateful for this traditional dip or sauce called "Raita". This is the most incredible, aromatic, delicious and tasty sauce. Raita is made with yogurt, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, mint, garlic cloves, green chillies and salt as per taste. Raita is commonly being made and used in the Pak-Indo region for decades. Raita has its own worth for a variety of reasons, for instance:

  • Nowadays, raita is being emerged and variants are now prepared and consumed, for instance, Loki ka raita, potato, eggplant, mix vege, spicy, mild, with mayo, with mustard and carrot raita. In other words, you may have your very own version of raita
  • Raita harmonizes very well with biryani, pulao, veg pulao, kebab, samosa, roll, paratha roll, bun kebab, fried fish, tikka, BBQ, pakora, plain rice, even use as a dip with vegetables
  • Raita is straightforward to make, incredibly delicious, appetizing and blends with the cuisine. Raita boosts digestion and it has a punch of flavour to the taste buds
  • Raita is being served in a specific bowl and it is called a raita bowl
  • Raita is being served with other cuisines in a variety of ceremonies, for instance, wedding, nikkah, engagement, baby shower, get together, parties, welcome, farewell, Roza after parties and even at home with the above-mentioned cuisine
  • The word raita is used for a person if someone is making trouble in the relationship or creating chaos. It is said in Urdu "Raita phelana" or in English "Spreading Raita"
  • This is my incredible journey with the raita, what connections do you find with the raita? is the thought of the day
