Today I am grateful for and recognize the significance of today's live session over Facebook at Malton Bazm - E - Khawateen platform. This session was coordinated by Gulnaz Rehan and facilitated by Me. Today's session genuinely addressed the topic "Gracefully Manage Anger", this was part one and exclusively tapped the 2 to 18 years of age group. Today's sessions comprised anger, triggers and strategies, for instance:
- As caregivers and parents, you necessitate to identify your tendencies of expressing anger, given the fact, children learn, adopt and practice anger expression from parents
- Recognize triggers and reasons for aggressive behaviour, it may vary from child to child and situation to situation
- As a parent, do not respond or be aggressive while a child is high or aggressive
- The significance of validating emotions and feelings of a child
- Let them express emotion at that moment, it will ventilate negativity
- Importance of listening and focus what your child is expressing
- You may distract your child by holding a hand or tapping his or her back, you may offer water
- Value of the cooling time and how can you execute a magic
- Speak about and focus on the ability NOT a disability
- Significance of the storytelling and faith teachings
- How can sports help them to release negative emotions
- Avoid complaining, criticizing and backbiting regarding your child. It is linked with low self-esteem and lack of confidence
- Teaching them problem-solving strategies
- Teach them relaxing and calm down strategies for stability in their mood and emotions
- Get professional help, whenever it is needed
- Today's session was loaded with practical and effective solutions, however, keep in mind that all these strategies are not fit for all, as a parent, you better know your child and their capabilities. Pick a strategy that is most beneficial to your child is the advice of the day
