Last Roza - Chand Raat
Today I am grateful for having last Roza and Chand Raat at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic. However, I am still alive, breathing and active, this is a blessing and I am thankful for celebrating Chand Raat. The last Roza of the month of Ramadan has its own significance and value. Muslims are usually unhappy and happy at the same time because of the last Roza and happy due to the Eid next day, Chand Raat and Eid's festivity and its blessings. There are various rituals performed at this blessed night, for instance:
- After the last Roza, Muslims around the world focus on the sighting of the moon, Muslims usually offers special duas and prayers for their family and Muslim ummah
- Muslim women have been busy cooking special meals, sweets and snacks for Eid day, for instance, sheer khurma, custard, sweets, biryani, kebab, BBQ, Pulao zarda, karahi, nan, special breakfast, tandoori and dahi bare chole
- Personally, I have been preparing and cooking sheer khurma, ras malai, beef biryani, green chicken, goal kebab, salad and raita
- Henna or mehndi is the specialty of this night, mostly women, girls and married or engaged women get henna tattoos
- Muslims are busy steam-pressing new clothes for the Eid namaz. Everyone tries to have new cloth for Eid day
- Muslims decorate their houses as much as they can afford, however, they try their level best
- Eidi envelops get ready for the next blessed day
- The crowd is at its peak in the market and malls whereas, at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic, people are mindful of the spread of coronavirus
