Peanuts

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the value of peanuts and their flavourful punch to the taste buds. Peanuts are not classified in the category of nuts, it is ranked under the legumes and lentils category. Peanuts are part of the snack or bite of every household in the winter. People regardless of their age, gender and socioeconomic status, love tasting peanuts. I recognize and comprehend its significance for a variety of  reasons, for instance:

  • Peanuts are an excellent source of Vit E, copper, folate, magnesium and are rich in protein, unsaturated fat and fibre. It tastes comparable to walnut and almonds
  • Peanuts are good for health and have a tremendous impact on heart health, cholesterol and  weight loss
  • Peanuts are part of royal cuisine in various ways, such as Mughlai chicken. Peanuts are part of Hyderabadi cuisine for decades, for instance, green chillies ka salan and bhagare began. Now it is a part of continental salads, soups, sauces and rice
  • Nowadays, peanuts are available in a variety of tastes and flavours, such as salty, sweet, raw, spicy, with herbs and roasted. Most of the time peanuts are available in the market with blended flavours such as peanut butter or jam
  • Commercially a variety of edible products of peanuts are available, for instance, cookies, pie, butter, hummus, peanut sauce, toffee, lollipops, candy, laddu, sweets, halwa and trail mix
  • I found peanuts monogram/logo on tea-shirts, peanuts rings, necklaces, earrings for teenagers, peanuts logo on shoes, wristwatch or school bags and lunch bags
  • Some people have serious allergies to peanuts. In Canada, peanuts and their products are banned in schools as some children exhibit life-threatening allergies to peanuts. Be cautious, while offering someone peanuts is the thought of the day
