Thinking patterns - part # 2

Today I am grateful for and appreciate the Facebook live session titled "Thinking Pattern and its impact on Emotional, Personal, Social and Professional life" at Malton Bazm - E - Khawateen forum. This session was facilitated by me, hosted by Gulnaz Rehan and coordinated by Aasia Khatoon. Today was part # 2 of the previous session. I acknowledge and recognize the significance of today's session for a variety of reasons, for instance:

  • The session commenced with the summary of the former session then proceeded to the remaining thinking patterns, for example:
    • Overgeneralization
    • Catastrophizing
    • Control Fallacies
    • Blaming
    • Emotional Reasoning
    • Global Reasoning / Mislabelling
    • Heaven  Reward Fallacy
    • Polarized thinking
    • Jumping to conclusion
    • Personalization
    • Fallacy of fairness
    • Shoulds
    • Fallacy of change
    • Always being right

  • Next, discussed the strategies to deal with the thinking patterns, for instance:
    • Focus on the positive side
    • Think before speaking
    • Use the religious lens to analyze the thought
    • Why am I thinking this way or that way
    • Be mindful of the effects of negative thinking
    • Focus on abilities NOT disabilities
    • What else could it be?
    • Journaling
    • Gratitude practice
    • Think out of the box
    • Hope for the best
  • Find professional help if none of the strategies work for you, for instance, counsellor, psychotherapist, psychiatrist or a family doctor
