Today I am grateful for and appreciate the Facebook live session titled "Thinking Pattern and its impact on Emotional, Personal, Social and Professional life" at Malton Bazm - E - Khawateen forum. This session was facilitated by me, hosted by Gulnaz Rehan and coordinated by Aasia Khatoon. Today was part # 2 of the previous session. I acknowledge and recognize the significance of today's session for a variety of reasons, for instance:
- The session commenced with the summary of the former session then proceeded to the remaining thinking patterns, for example:
- Overgeneralization
- Catastrophizing
- Control Fallacies
- Blaming
- Emotional Reasoning
- Global Reasoning / Mislabelling
- Heaven Reward Fallacy
- Polarized thinking
- Jumping to conclusion
- Personalization
- Fallacy of fairness
- Shoulds
- Fallacy of change
- Always being right
- Next, discussed the strategies to deal with the thinking patterns, for instance:
- Focus on the positive side
- Think before speaking
- Use the religious lens to analyze the thought
- Why am I thinking this way or that way
- Be mindful of the effects of negative thinking
- Focus on abilities NOT disabilities
- What else could it be?
- Journaling
- Gratitude practice
- Think out of the box
- Hope for the best
- Find professional help if none of the strategies work for you, for instance, counsellor, psychotherapist, psychiatrist or a family doctor
