Jumma - Tul - Wida
Today I am grateful for and acknowledge the significance of Jumma - Tul - Wida in the month of Ramadan. This is the most celebrated and influential Jumma or Friday among the Muslim community around the world. I am and those who are celebrating this Jumma are blessed that still breathing and alive at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic. There are a variety of rituals attached to this Jumma, for instance:
- Jumma - Tul - Wida is the last Friday of the month of Ramadan, spirituality intensify and enhanced among all Muslims as they will wait for the whole year for the next Jumma Tul Wida
- Special prayers and Duas being offered around the world, especially for this pandemic
- Muslims buy or cook the best food for the Aftar table around the world and observe and honour this day with its absolute spiritual essence
- Muslims usually take bath, use perfume, clip nails, use miswake, recite Sure Kahaf and wear new or decent clothes. These are some rituals usually Muslims follow every Friday but Jumma Tul Wida has its own significance
- Muslims normally complete the recitation of the Quran, so this day is the Khatamul Quran day as well in every mosque and home
- Before COVID 19, Muslims celebrated the first Roza of their child and it is called Roza Kushai
- Muslims around the world habitually offered Roza Aftar parties on this special day before the pandemic. Muslims gathered and shared the feast on Jumma Tul Wida
- This is the tradition and Islamic ideology to share food with neighbours, relatives and with community, so some Muslims plan to distribute Aftari on Jumma Tul Wida
- I witnessed that Eidi is sent to the married daughters and sisters' house on Jumma Tul Wida. Eidi included vermicelli, rice, nuts, envelope, bangles, dress, mehndi, fruits and lots of prayers for their prosperous and successful life in all spectrums
- I sensed and discovered happiness, delight, cheerfulness and at the same time sad emotions as this one is the last Jumma of this Ramadan and as a Muslim, we need to wait for the whole year to attend the next Jumma Tul Wida
